Description
Embers of the Imperium is the Genesys RPG sourcebook for the setting of the much-loved Twilight Imperium boardgame. The setting as established in Twilight Imperium 4th Edition and Prophecy of Kings is a Space Opera of vast scope. Players can take the roles of many species and careers as they join the Keleres to protect civilisation.
Chaos, war, and isolation have plagued the galaxy for thousands of years, since the fall of the Lazax Empire. Now, finally, the once-great civilizations have restored some semblance of their former glory. They now cast covetous eyes on the wider galaxy once more.
The Council established The Keleres in the wake of the discovery of the Mahact Kings. They realised that not one, but two, existential galactic threats had arisen in a matter of months. In theory, the Keleres are empowered by the members of the Galactic Council to investigate matters that concern the Pax Imperalis, enforce the rulings of the Council, and stop threats to the galaxy as a whole. Each of the Great Civilisations of the Council provides personnel and equipment to accomplish this.
In practice, however, the Keleres find themselves underfunded and understaffed. They are distrusted by the various peoples they must investigate, blocked at every turn as the Great Civilisations pursue their own agendas, and riven by factionalism and infighting. However, they are often the only ones who stand between the galaxy and threats that could end the lives of billions of innocents.
