By now you may have started to see messages from other smaller games producers and retailers about the European Union’s GPSR – General Product Safety Regulation. This is a new law that comes in next month which places demands on companies selling products to the EU and associated areas. These new requirements are currently expensive to comply with, have serious penalties if you fail to meet them and more than a little unclear.
As a result of this, from 1st December we will no longer be selling our products to customers in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Northern Ireland. Yes, because of its open border with the Republic of Ireland, this affects Northern Ireland too!
We truly hope that this will change in the future; as the new laws become more established, effective services to allow us to comply with them will hopefully emerge. Until then, if you want to place an order with us from an affected area, please ensure you do it before 1st December.
This may seem like an extreme response to the General Product Safety Regulation. Rest assured, many small games and miniatures companies have come together, are getting legal advice and looking at options. For now, this seems to be the only practical solution. When a better option presents itself, we will do everything we can to connect with customers in affected areas again. Never in a million years did we think we’d be unable to deliver games to areas of the United Kingdom, but this is apparently the world we live in now.
